Es hat sich gezeigt, dass man kein Ideal-Kommunikations-Verhalten lernen kann oder auch soll. „Kommunikation muss aus dem Holz sein, aus dem der Mensch geschnitzt ist." (Schulz von Thun 2000, S. 8). Und doch ist das Modell von Schulz von Thun ein wichtiger Beitrag zu Verbesserung unseres Kommunikationsverhaltens geworden, wenigstens für die, die dafür Zeit und Interesse aufwenden wollen. Es ist ein wichtiges Werkzeug und eine Hilfe im Umgang mit Mitmenschen, weil es nicht zu vereinfachend aber auch nicht so kompliziert ist, dass es für einen Laien nicht nachvollziehbar sein könnte. Die wichtigsten Vorteile dieses Modells kann man so zusammenfassen: Klarlegung und Bewusstmachung des Faktums, dass man mit einem „Sprechakt“ mehrere Botschaften aussendet; man soll sich am besten dessen bewusst sein, dass seine Nachricht „missverstanden“ werden kann, d.h. anders ankommen kann, als es gemeint war. Die Anzahl der Missverständnisse und Störungen kann mit Hilfe dieses Modells reduziert werden. Wenigstens ist ein recht praktisches Werkzeug da, der jedem die Möglichkeit gibt, die Entscheidung zu treffen, sich mit seinem eigenen Kommunikationsverhalten zu befassen, es besser zu verstehen und zu kontrollieren (z.B. wenigstens nicht zu viele Gedankenlosigkeiten von sich zu geben). Anfangen soll man bei sich selbst: „Man muss sich selbst erst kennen, um andere zu sehen und zu verstehen“.

This is a great book for anyone getting started with Spark, Scala. It's short but packed with great insights.
This book was my point of reference for cracking the interview on Hadoop, Spark and Scala. Best detailed description I've found and I found it very useful for preparing for interviews.
This book is great for getting your bearings with respect to the major functions of Hadoop, and the components that serve those functions.

About the Author

Sabine Graf has a PhD from Vienna University of Technology, Austria & is presently an Assistant Professor at Athabasca University, School of Computing & Information Systems, in Canada. Her research expertise & interests include adaptivity & personalization, student modeling, ubiquitous & mobile learning, artificial intelligence & collaborative learning technologies. She has published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal papers, book chapters & conference papers in these areas, of which three conference papers were awarded with the best paper award. Dr. Graf is Executive Board Member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Learning Technologies, Editor of the Learning Technology Newsletter, a publication of the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Learning Technology (TCLT) & Associate Editor of the International Journal of Interaction Design & Architectures. She is an active member of the research community, serving as editorial board member of three international journals, workshop chair & organizer of eight international workshops, doctoral consortium chair at three international conferences & guest editor of three special issues. Furthermore, Dr. Graf has been invited to given keynote/invited talks at universities/companies/conferences in Austria, Canada, Colombia, New Zealand, Taiwan & UK.

Dr. Fuhua Lin is a Professor & the Centre Chair of the School of Computing & Information Systems, of Athabasca University, Canada. Dr. Lin has been conducting research in Computers in Education since 1986. He obtained his PhD in Virtual Reality from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in 1998. Prior to working in Athabasca University, Dr. Lin was an assistant research officer at the Institute for Information Technology (IIT) of the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. Dr. Lin conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Calgary during 1998-1999.

Dr. Lin has garnered international recognition for his research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education & agent-based educational systems. His current research interest is applying AI technology through constructing effective & efficient algorithms to address challenges that may exist in traditional educational systems & to enhance online & distance learning environments, e.g. incorporating intelligence into virtual worlds for e-learning to build engaging, personalized & interactive social virtual learning environments for online learning.

Kinshuk is NSERC/iCORE/Xerox/Markin Industrial Research Chair for Adaptivity & Personalization in Informatics, Associate Dean of Faculty of Science & Technology & Full Professor in the School of Computing & Information Systems at Athabasca University, Canada. His work has been dedicated to advancing research on the innovative paradigms, architectures & implementations of learning systems for individualized & adaptive learning in increasingly global environments. He is the Founding Chair of IEEE Technical Committee on Learning Technology & the Editor of the SSCI indexed Journal of Educational Technology & Society. He has been involved in numerous large-scale research projects for exploration based adaptive educational environments & has published over 300 research papers in international refereed journals, conferences & book chapters.

Rory McGreal is a Professor of Computer Technologies in Education & the Associate Vice President of Athabasca University - Canada's Open University based in Alberta. Great Score at a Fair Price!

This score is the complete Broadway version of the show with all the incidental music etc. My Fair Lady is a classic Lerner and Lowe and students of musical theater need to have this. It contains pieces like The Ascot Gavotte...not found elsewhere. The Overture will take some careful fingerwork, but worth it. I'm a theater organist and find it easily adaptable.

The score arrived in excellent condition and well within the advertised time frame.
It is clearly printed and well cued for the various instruments. However, the instrumental cues,as marked, refer to the original instrumentation of the 1956 broadway performance and are not of much value to amateur performances using the supplied smaller Orchestra versions most groups will need to use.
If you are luckey enough to be able to use the larger orchestration then it is a great help to the MD who does not have the benefit of a full Orchestra score (partiture).
