The present compilation comprises 19 keyboard suites, each consisting of four classic, extremely popular, stylized court dances: the allemande, courante, sarabande, and gigue. Slight variations (such as a pair of sarabandes) are also included.

Keyboard Suites

What a delightful surprise! Until a couple of days ago, I was unfamilar with Buxtehude's harpsichord music. These are little gems. Miniature, if you will. I see them as a good learning tool for intermediate students. Once learned and some embellishment added, they will make anyone one in the room happy to hear their preformance.

Because the service was very efficient, arrival time weeks before expected, an excellent way to purchase music scores. For a second hand volume conditon was exceptionally good. The harpsichord music of Buxtehude is not generally played but worth spending some time with.
